RSSAA is an architectural practice.
With works spanning from object design and interiors to building renovation and larger landscape interventions, we approach architecture holistically, redefining the role of the architect today.
Formed by Rasmus Schatter Strøyberg and Alberte Agerskov, RSSAA operates between Denmark and Italy. Our practice is shaped by the dialogue between Nordic and Mediterranean vernaculars - their materials, atmospheres, and building traditions. These regional contrasts inform our work, both conceptually and physically.
We interpret place and landscape through their naturally and artificially occurring elements, proposing spatial interventions that are intimate, grounded, and tactile. With a critical awareness of how natural resources are extracted, transformed, and consumed, we strive to create architecture that is sensuous and connected to its context.
Through sculptural and visual works, we communicate broader spatial strategies in a way that resonates with personal experience and memory, encouraging sensory and emotional engagement with place and material. Our work is divided into two main categories:
Practice.
Architectural works across interiors, gardens, and landscapes. We lead transformation and renovation projects internationally, navigating cultural and material complexity through contextual design.
Research.
Ongoing investigations into material culture, construction traditions, and spatial narratives. This body of work is connected to our practice within visual art and our ephemeral installations. This includes functional objects that explore material processes and the relationship between form, function, and space connected to the scale and movement of the human body. The objects are often custom made to our housing projects.
Rasmus Schatter Strøyberg (RSS) is based in Copenhagen.
Alberte Agerskov (AA) is based between Copenhagen and Rome.
